At the winery Montevertine in the heart of Tuscany, the idea was born in 2006 to create a "magnifiying glass for your nose" for visitors of wine fairs to imagine the wonderful smell of a freshly emptied wine barrel.
After a period of development the Wine-Bukanter was born and a little later the Ball-Bukanter. Originally intended for all kinds of spirits, we realized that the Ball-Bukanter is a perfect tool also for tasting coffee, beer, liqueur, oil and vinegar. By the way, the name BUKANTER originated from "bouquet" and "decanter". Since 2012 and 2016 we are Beersommeliers. Since then we started creating accessoires for celebrating beer culture. We developed the "Essence of Beer" to produce Eisbock on a small scale at home. We also transferred the tradition of Beer-spiking into an easy and applicable way of celebrating with our "Kugelstachel". With the Ball-Spike it is possible to create a caramel-note and a warm, creamy foam in the glass of beer. The "Aroma Bars" are created as a training tool for the nose, but you can also use them as a game. We impart our knowledge also in trainings for gastronomes. We also show the variety of beers at tastings and seminars.
