PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Mineral oil residues in food? This issue is not necessarily about lubricants, but rather about mineral oil components contained in paper printing ink. Especially printed and recycled waste paper, which is used for the production of food packaging, contains a high amount of mineral oil components. Notably in packages for dry foot as rice, flour, noodles, breakfast cereals, white bread crumbs or semolina, these can be transferred from the packaging to the food due to the large surface area. The used basic oils are according to the requirements of the US-Pharmacopeia and containing less than 0.1 % mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH), furthermore, white oils are containing less than 1 ppm PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons). These are produced from highly refined basic oils.
