A first response to climate change - Hopsteiner's Akoya.
It's not news that the changing climatic conditions are a major concern for the hop industry. It is the traditional, old varieties in particular that are struggling with drought and heat and are thus increasingly losing yield. The Hopsteiner breeding program team has set its focus here. Hopsteiner's first response to climate change is its new variety Akoya.
Akoya is a no-frills, down-to-earth variety that impressed with yield stability and resistance in a seven-year cultivation phase and delivers outstanding brewing results.
