Product Description

SP2000 laboratory robot for beer analysis. The SP2000 robot automates various parameters to control the brewing process. One of these parameters is the bitterness, which are largely responsible for the taste in beer. They mainly consist of iso-alpha acids and come from the hops used in brewing. Various other parameters, for example, Free Amino Acids (FAN), Anthocyanogens, SO2, Polyphenols and Thiobarbituric Acid Index (TBI) are also monitored to control the brewing process, result and quality. A reliable and widespread method to measure beer parameters is spectrophotometry, according to international methods such as EBC, ASBC, Mebak and others. The SP2000 robot can be used for the automation of the spectrophotometric analysis in the various types of beer and wort samples. The complete automation includes e.g. degassing the sample, capping/decapping, sample dilution, addition of reagents, mixing and measuring of the absorbance.
The main reasons for automating the analytical process with the SP2000 are:
- Reduce the workload for the laboratory staff.
The robotic analyzer takes care of all the necessary steps for a complete unattended automation of the analysis. The operator inserts the beer/wort samples and starts the robot.
- Higher flexibility for a larger product variety
The robotic analyzer uses absolute methods according to the accepted international methods and therefore does not need to be calibrated each time an analysis is started.
- No calibration required for Bitterness value calculation
Different types of beer with low and high bitter substances can be analyzed automatically.
- Reduced reagent consumption
The iso-octane reagent consumption is reduced by a factor of 5.
- Several parameters on one platform
The robot has various parameters that can be used flexibly according to the
