Dosing and mixing in the production of liquid products

In the production of beverages, different raw materials are mixed in liquid form or are added as powder. Ruland offer various process plant solutions.

The design of state-of-the-art dosing and mixing units is more than processing different raw materials in liquid form or in powder form. The process plant needs to dose the individual product components as precisely as possible, and mix and dissovle particles carefully to retain the structure of the products. Ruland manufactures all mixing and dosing systems individually. By combining different dosing and mixing processes and components, Ruland engineers put together the right plant technology for each product. The aim is to achieve consistent product quality with the lowest possible product losses and gentle processing.

Dosing with many variants

Ruland offers various solutions for the dosing of small quantities or the mixing of large batches. The individual raw materials are dosed by weight, volume or mass flow. Dosing can be carried out in a batch process, continuous inline dosing or a mix of both. There are also several possibilities for weighing: Containers with load cells, weighing platforms, mini scales and mobile scales. Via a comprehensive connection to the automation, the system records weight and addition of material for process control, quality control and documentation.

Variable and gentle product mixing

In containers of different sizes, particles are homogeneously distributed with appropriate agitators. This can be done on the basis of a recipe as soon as the product is added. For dosing dry materials, inline dispersing machines are used, which suck in and disperse the dry materials. Or the mixing elements are selected according to the requirements and product properties so that, for example, fruit pieces are retained. For product storage, Ruland offers various solutions, such as aseptic storage in large tanks.

Manual operation or fully automatic process control

The control systems of Ruland plants are also designed to meet the requirements of the respective operation. This can range from manual, operator-guided manufacturing processes to fully automated complete solutions. The plant visualisations give the operators an overview of the ongoing production process at any time. Self-adapting dosing processes can increase accuracy and automatically compensate for differences in raw materials. As a comprehensive software solution, the Ruland Process Management System, RPMS, offers recipe control, raw material management, tank farm handling and comprehensive documentation and logging. The complete documentation and logging of all process parameters provides the operator with complete traceability of the batches produced.

In summary, the Ruland systems for mixing and dosing offer individual solutions as:

• Individual design and production
• Solutions for small quantities as well as large containers and tank farms
