Product Description
Refillable PET bottles are the most sustainable packaging solution for beverages. These robust bottles can be washed and refilled by the producer, saving the production of new packaging and the associated emissions. Compared to refillable glass their lightweight nature means that they are more carbon efficient and cost efficient. A refillable PET bottle can be reused up to 25 times, before being recycled and are bottle to bottle recyclable. They can fill on glass filling lines with small adjustments, making them a low capex solution.
Traditional refillable systems, as seen in South America and Germany, operate in a simple loop. Bottles are manufactured, sent to the filler to process and out to the market. Once the customer has consumed the beverage, they return the bottle to a designated point and reclaim a small deposit placed on the bottle. The final step is the bottle being returned to the producer to be washed and refilled.
