About us
In 1953, the Spalt hop growers formed the
Hopfenverwertungsgenossenschaft (HVG) Spalt e.G. (Spalt Hop Growers'
Cooperative) in order to jointly take care of marketing.
The Spalt hop-growing region is world famous for its fine aroma hops – especially for our SPALT SPALTER. There is no purer hop wort. As early as 1538, the growers protected their hops with the world's first hop seal. In 2012, the old land variety "Spalt Spalter" received the unique quality mark "protected indication of origin" from the EU. In the small hop-growing region north of the Danube, the emphasis is on optimum qualities of fine, rare and new hop varieties. You are welcome to learn about our range of hops, the current harvest, as well as aromas and flavors. For this purpose, Dr. Frank Braun brews specially hopped beers for tasting at the booth and is happy to discuss them!
We are holding an ISO 22000:2018 and an organic certificate. Our Spalter growers are 100% certified sustainable. To fully meet your needs, we offer hop products from the Spalt growing region, as well as from selected growers in other German growing regions and imported hops.
Spalt relies on long-term contracts for its procurement. This means that we are familiar with stocks, growers and methods. The Franconian supplier has a special market position with Spalt Spalter, Spalt Spalter Select, Hallertauer Gold, Hersbrucker Pure, German Saazer, Merkur, Taurus and Diamant. read more
